Hello bass fishing fans!!! Below you will find a hand picked list of 2016 Chesapeake Bay Bass Fishing Tournaments scheduled to be put on by several different tournament trails during the 2016 bass fishing season.

April 23rd - Chesapeake Bay - Anchor Marine. Ram Truck Open Series

May 14th - Chesapeake Bay - Turners Creek. Open Buddy Tournament - DBF

May 14th - Chesapeake Bay - Turners Creek. Open Team Tournament - DBN

May 21st - Chesapeake Bay - Anchor Marine. FLW Bass Fishing League

June 18th - Chesapeake Bay - Anchor Marine. Ram Truck Open Series

Sept 10th - Chesapeake Bay - Turners Creek. Championship / Classic - DBF

Sept 11th - Chesapeake Bay - Turners Creek. Open Team Tournament - DBN

Oct     8th - Chesapeake Bay - Turners Creek. Championship / Classic - DBN

* DBF = Delaware Bass Federation

* DBN = Delaware Bass Nation 

It's only mid January but the excitement is building up to mid March and April levels already. Master fishing tackle catalogs are in the mail box, sponsors are filling out their pro staffs, new boats are hitting marina showrooms, boat shows are opening their doors and most importantly, warm weather is hanging around! 

Last time we had this type of warmer than usual winter, some record breaking largemouth were caught in Maryland. I'm not a gambling man (Except for a few 1.4 Billion Powerball lottery tickets) but if I was, My money would be on a new record breaking largemouth bass coming out of the upper Chesapeake Bay between now and June.
