I LANDED HER ON A JIG.

My Dad and I went out today fishing for some spawning lunkers on the Chesapeake Bay. What we caught however, was a mixed bag of young buck bass and a decent pre spawn female. With the weather we have been having this spring in Maryland, I'm grateful we did as well as we did for our first trip out on the bay this season. Air temps reached the mid 70's today with the warmest water temps in the low 60's. We did not see any bedding fish and most of our bites came of shallow wooden structures in the Sassafras River. We started getting bites first thing in the morning and they lasted through out the day.

A variety of baits were used including crankbaits, jigs and soft plastics.
