Hi Folks, in this Pocomoke River bass fishing report, things got off to a hopping good start but only 1 frog fish landed in the boat! Today 36 boats showed up to fish this Pocomoke River bass fishing tournament put on by Delaware Bass Federation. Today started off with big fish blowing my frog clear out of the water. Some were pike and some were largemouth bass. Every place I stopped and tossed my frog in for a swim ka plush, fish jumping 2 feet out of the water. Only 1 problem, a majority of the fish were not getting hooked good enough for me or my partner to get them in the boat. I had 8 or nine frog blow ups early in the morning and a few more frog blow ups through out the day.

14 total fish

5 Fish Measured
My Biggest Fish = 1.5 lbs (Frog)
Total Weight = 6.25 lbs
16.07 lbs = 1st place (7 fish limit)
Finished = 26th Place
Number Of Boats = 36
Big Fish Of Tournament = 3.68 lbs

Best Bait = Wacky Worm

Texas rigged worm was second best and nothing on spinner bait, crankbait or bladed swim jig. Most of my fishing was done above the draw bridge today. We tied into 4 pickerel with the biggest pickerel being around 4 lbs. I'm pretty sure that I will be falling out of the top 8 for A.O.Y Championship points (19 points out of 1st place = A.O.Y) after this performance. Stay tuned to my upcoming blog post to see how my 2015 season turns out. 1 tournament left and the Top 25 anglers go to the Delaware Bass Federation Classic!

If I could do 1 thing different?

I would not change anything today. I was searching for new water and a bigger than average bite. A.O.Y was within reach and I went for it!

I just found out that I'm in great shape to make the classic (12th place A.O.Y. points)!
