Today we fished the first bass fishing tournament of the year on the Chesapeake Bay. Lightning and wind limited our choices for prime fishing locations and hot spots we discovered in the couple practice trips prior to this event on the Susquehanna flats. However, we made the best of it by fishing protected waters of Bohemia and a marina off of the Chesapeake Bay that was mostly calm but full of boat traffic. My bigger fish were coming off jigs and Bill Lewis square bill crank baits in practice. Today though was a different story. Both fish came on a soft plastic stick bait. We saw a kicker fish on the bed today that must have weighed between 8 lb and 10 lb but we just could not get her to bite. The good news is that we finished in the middle of the pack in today's standings and are in the running to make the classic cut off at the end of the year.

Special thanks to The Crab Place for their continued support or the 2018 season.
