Smitson Looks To Defend Team Tournament Title On Marshyhope Creek:

Professional angler Melvin Smitson, Baltimore Maryland looks to defend his Crabtowne Bassmasters Open Team Tournament Title On Marshyhope Creek this Saturday August 3, 2013!

In 2012 Smitson weighed in 6 bass for 17 lbs 03 oz and had a 4 lb 3 oz lunker. That combo anchored his first place victory and big fish for the day. So what do you for an encore?

"Your allowed to weigh in a 7 bass limit so I will start there. A few bags pushing 20 lbs are rumored to being had in the past year or so. Maryland DNR has done a really nice job with stocking these bass in Marshyhope Creek. I think I have my work cut out for me that's for sure. As crazy as it sounds, I can in vision a scenario with an angler weighing in a 7 bass limit for 21 lbs or more in the near future."

"It's going to take 18 lbs or better to win this thing this year." My partner ( Dad ) was over this week and caught a couple 3 pounders, four or five 2 pound bass and eight largemouth bass that where a pound and a half or better. He told me he had around 23 bass total and his best 7 bass weighed around 16 lbs. Not to shabby for 5 hours of fishing."
