Nanticoke River Bass Fishing Tournament Report June 23, 2013

Hello bass fishing fans and welcome back!

I fished a Nanticoke river bass fishing tournament today put on by Delaware Bass Federation.

Launched out of the pickle factory ( sharpstown ) and made our way over to Phillips landing ( broad creek ) where boat check and boat launch was being held. Rained pretty heavy off and on all day today. The water was muddy from the time we dropped to boat in until the time we took her out. The wind blew steady at around 20 mph.

Thankfully, that did not stop the bass from biting!

Me and my dad wound up catching around 15 - 20 bass on the day. All of those bass were caught from the front of the boat. Don't want to sprain my arm patting myself on the back or anything but you know what they say you can lead an o'l dog to the water but you can't always get'm to drink it.

My Dad is still screaming foul, insisting to everyone that will listen to his side of the story that I deep hole'd him all day and all night long. Our biggest bass was 2lb 1oz and our total weight was 11lbs .99 oz with a 7 bass limit.

It did not matter much what baits we used Buckeye Jig, Wacky Worm, Bladed Swim Jig With A Custom Colored Gambler Skirt, Texas Rigged Gambler Ace, Hard Plastic Stick Bait, War Eagle Spinnerbait, Gambler Big EZ Swimbait, ect...

We could only upgrade by ounces and most of our catch today came from Marshyhope creek. Right around 18 lbs won this event so it sounds like the bass are still growing strong and the fishery is in good health.

Tight Lines & Heavy Limits,
